  1. This CD-ROM is organized into fonts for the IBM compatible PC and fonts 
  2. for the Macintosh.  This file explains what is in the "PC" directory.  
  3. Consult the "READ_MAC.TXT" for information on the "Mac" folder.
  4.  
  5. The "PC" directory is organized in the following manner.  
  6.  
  7.  * Font Viewer -  
  8.        If you have windows, you should start by :
  9.        * change to the drive that is your CD-ROM: type "e:", where e is  
  10.          the drive letter assigned to your CD-ROM drive.
  11.        * change directories into the PC directory, type "cd \pc"
  12.        * decide if you want to install a convenient icon into windows
  13.          or run without installing anything.
  14.          to install the icon type "VWR_WIN"
  15.          to run without installing anything, type: "VWR_DOS" 
  16.        THE FONT VIEWER DOES NOT INSTALL FONTS - BUT IT DOES
  17.        LET YOU PREVIEW THE FONTS AND READ ABOUT THEIR 
  18.        HISTORY AND THEIR USAGE.

  20.  * ALLT1 -  A directory of the 150 fonts in PostScript Type One Format
  21.              A font that has a screen font, AFM metrics file
  22.              and a printer font.  (Works 
  23.              with PostScript printers and 
  24.              ATM)
  25.  
  26.  * BYFAMT1 -  A directory of the 150 fonts in PostScript Type One Format
  27.              Organized into font family directories.
  28.              Same files as ALLT1, with a different organization.
  29.  
  30.  * ALLTT -  A directory of the 150 fonts in TRUETYPE Format
  31.              A font that has the screen font 
  32.              and printer font both in the 
  33.              same file. Requires Windows!
  34.              
  35.  * BYFAMTT -  A directory of the 150 fonts in TRUETYPE Format
  36.              Organized into font family directories.
  37.              Same files as ALLTT, with a different organization.
  38.  
  39.  * BONUS -  A directory of the over 30 additional fonts.
  40.  
  41.  * AFM   and   CFG_INF -  ".INF" and ".CFG" support files for the fonts.
  42.  
  43.  * _RUNTIME -  support files for the WINDOWS font viewer .
